East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to Prince William Parade in Eastbourne at 8.53pm on Sunday, July 6, after reports of a wooden groyne smouldering on the shore.

One fire engine attended.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze using a hosereel jet.
No injuries were reported.
