A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on drugs charges following an armed police incident in Belfast City Centre.
Colm Lawlor, 34, of Harmin Parade, Newtownabbey, appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday, July 3, after being arrested following an incident on Wednesday, July 1. This saw armed police on Tomb Street stop a vehicle and arrest a man who had failed to stop for officers with drugs worth £225,000 later being seized.
Lawlor faces four charges which include posession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, failing to stop for police and driving without due care and attention.
In another court appearance on Monday, July 6, police were allowed to detain more than £20,000 that had been seized from Lawlor for a period of up to three months.
Lawlor has been remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Belfast Magistrates Court on July 31.
