Witnesses are needed after a four-year-old boy was hit by a car when crossing the road.

A black Range Rover was involved in a collision with the young pedestrian on Nelson Road, Gillingham, at around 4.12pm yesterday (Friday).

A police spokesperson said: “The boy was reported to have been crossing the road prior to the collision.”

Officers and paramedics attended the scene, and the boy was taken to a London hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

He remains in hospital at this time.

The road was closed while an investigation was completed.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
