The County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow event brought about 11,000 lodge members and bands, along with thousands of supporters, into the city to mark the Battle of the Boyne.
The annual loyalist procession is organised by the Orange Order, a Protestant fraternal group founded in Ireland in 1795, and its primary purpose is to celebrate the 1690 battle.

They later gathered into four larger groups in the north, south, east and west of the city before coming together at Jamaica Street and Broomielaw to form one main parade to Glasgow Green.

Crowds line the pavements with umbrellas as bands play flutes and drums, and banners from districts across Glasgow can be seen as the procession moves along wet streets.

Once at Glasgow Green, members and bands spent several hours at the event before setting off in the afternoon on their journeys back through the city centre and out to their own communities.
Temporary road closures are in place along the routes and around Glasgow Green to allow the parades to pass, and several bus routes are being diverted.

On its social media, the Glasgow Orange County said: “The County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow is proud of its heritage, proud of its traditions, and proud of the people who make our Institution what it is today.
“For generations, Orangeism has been built upon the principles of faith, friendship, community and heritage.
“It is through these values that we continue to serve our communities, support charitable causes, promote Christian principles, and preserve the history and traditions passed down to us.”
