Police have partially closed a town centre route after concerns for the welfare of a person.
The A2 Rochester Bridge is blocked eastbound for traffic heading from Strood to Rochester.
The force says they were called to the scene near Corporation Street at around 1.30pm this afternoon (July 1).
Four fire engines also attended, and the ambulance service was called but stood down shortly after arrival.
One witness says the area is in “traffic chaos” with queues tailing back to Strood retail park.
According to traffic reporting provider Inrix, there is also congestion on surrounding roads, including High Street, Station Road and North Street.
