Convicted killer McCullagh was handed the minimum 31-year sentence for the “cold-blooded” murder of his pregnant partner
A man convicted of murdering his pregnant partner is appealing the sentence he received.
Natalie McNally, who staged a fake YouTube gaming livestream to provide an alibi while he murdered Ms McNally at her home in Lurgan, was told by a judge at Belfast Crown Court earlier this month that he will serve at least 31 years in prison.
Convicted killer McCullagh was handed the minimum 31-year sentence for the “cold-blooded” murder of his pregnant partner Natalie.
Natalie was 32-years old and was 15 weeks pregnant with their unborn son Dean when she was beaten, strangled and stabbed by McCullagh in her Lurgan home in December 2022.
The 36-year-old, of Woodland Gardens, Lisburn, was found guilty of the murder by a jury at the same court earlier this year.
McCullagh denied the murder to detectives, claiming that he had been livestreaming on his YouTube channel at the time she died.
But police experts discovered the six-hour stream had actually been filmed four days before and broadcast as live on December 18.
The Public Prosecution Service in Northern Ireland has been notified that an appeal against the sentence has been lodged.
A spokesperon said: “The PPS has been notified that an appeal against sentence has been lodged in the case of Stephen McCullagh.”
