Police have now confirmed the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
The assault took place just before 6pm on Saturday, June 27, on Sillwood Street in Brighton.

A 29-year-old man suffered a slash wound to his face and ear, though he has since been discharged from hospital.
A second man, aged 28, was struck in the face through the window of a taxi.
Detective Inspector Stephen Taylor said: “This was a distressing and serious incident and the victims are being supported by officers.
“A thorough investigation is underway to ensure we have a full picture of what happened.
“Witnesses have come forward and we thank them for helping us in our investigation.
“Our neighbourhood policing officers are patrolling in the area and if anyone has any concerns they should speak with them.”
Members of the public tackled the knifeman after he allegedly chased and grabbed a dog.
The suspect was restrained at the scene, and the knife was safely seized.
Police confirmed the dog was unharmed.
A 33-year-old man from the area has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
