The bus company will provide complimentary journeys on Saturday, June 27, to serving members, veterans and cadets as a gesture of thanks and recognition.
To access free travel, passengers need to wear their uniform or medals, show a valid ID card or wear the MOD Veteran’s Badge.
First Bus has also encouraged its own ex-military staff to wear associated military dress while driving in service as part of the day’s tribute.
The company has strong ties to the armed forces community, with many employees across its depots having served.
Rob Pymm, director of customer proposition at First Bus, said: “This is an important occasion for many people who want to show their support for our Armed Forces and remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service.
“We have many veterans working for First Bus across our businesses, and we’re very proud of their efforts and sacrifice.
“This is our way of saying thank you to them, as well as honouring all men and women who choose to serve and protect the freedoms of our country.”
