Scotrail and Network Rail said they are investigating a problem with the signalling system between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay after the issue was reported shortly after 6.48pm, June 14.

The fault is affecting services running between Glasgow Central and a number of destinations across the west coast.
Passengers travelling to Ayr, Ardrossan Harbour, Largs, Paisley Canal, Gourock and Wemyss Bay have been warned that services may be cancelled, delayed or revised while engineers work to identify the cause of the problem.
Alternative travel arrangements have been put in place for affected customers.
Rail tickets are being accepted on McGill’s bus services between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay, including routes 901, 531, 532 and 533.

Scotrail confirmed the issue in a social media update.
Scotrail said: “We are investigating a fault with the signalling system between Port Glasgow and Wemyss Bay.
“Services between Glasgow Central to Ayr/Ardrossan Harbour/ Largs/ Paisley Canal/ Gourock/Wemyss Bay may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
“Ticket acceptance is in place with McGills between Wemyss Bay and Port Glasgow. Services 901, 531, 532, and 533.”
It is not yet known when the fault will be repaired and normal services restored.
