The collision happened with street furniture on Kingston Lane, Southwick, at the junction with Old Shoreham Road on 14 June.
Sussex Police said: “A motorist was arrested following a short police pursuit after failing to stop in Old Shoreham Road, Hove, on Sunday evening, 14 June.
“His car was in collision with street furniture at the junction with Kingston Lane, Southwick.
“A 28-year-old man, an Iranian national, of no fixed address was arrested for possession of Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B and C drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop and he remains in custody.”
