The collision occurred on Ivy House Lane, north of Hastings, in the early hours of this morning (June 9).
Three other occupants of the vehicle also sustained injuries.
A road closure is in place from the junction with Chowns Hill and up to the crossroad with Moor Lane and Rock Lane near Three Oaks.
The closures are expected to be in place for some time while police investigate the incident, and motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
