Linden Road in Bognor has been closed today (June 2) due to a sinkhole emerging in the road.
A West Sussex County Council spokesperson said: “Earlier today, Highways teams completed excavation works and a thorough investigation of the affected area and confirmed that it is safe to proceed with repair works.
“Crews will undertake repairs to tomorrow morning (Tuesday 2 June), and we are working to reopen the road later that afternoon, subject to final safety checks.”
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes while the closure remains in force.
