Hesketh Park will get a new outdoor fitness area during 2026, a Dartford Council report has revealed.
It is one of a series of improvements to parks and open spaces set to be discussed by the council’s overview and scrutiny committee at a meeting next Tuesday (June 2).
Elsewhere, playgrounds at Chestnut Grove and Long Valley Hall are being refurbished, with these projects expected to be complete by June.
The report reveals that the money for these upgrades has come from an £130,000 underspend on the council’s overall 2025/2026 playground refurbishment programme.
This was completed in March 2026 and involved improvements for 10 playgrounds – meaning all of the council’s 27 playgrounds have now been fully refurbished over the past five years.
Two new outdoor fitness areas have also been created at Central Park and Worcester Park.
Other projects set to be discussed by the committee include the Covid Memorial Garden in Central Park, which was completed in February, and cleaning work to the River Darent.
Hesketh Park is home to Dartford Cricket Club, and already has two tennis courts, an enclosed multi-sports area and a playground.
