Police Scotland says the A737 between Dalry and Kilwinning has been shut after a collision involving two vehicles.

Emergency services were called to attend the incident shortly after 4pm today (Friday, May 22).

At present, motorists are being urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A737 between Dalry and Kilwinning is closed in both directions due to a crash.

“Emergency services were called to the incident involving two vehicles around 4.05pm on Friday, May 22, 2026.

“People are being asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.”

The route is the second major road in North Ayrshire said to be subject to closure at present.

The A78 southbound between the Pennyburn Roundabout and Eglinton Interchange is also reported to be closed as a result of a crash.
