Michael Hawkins, 40, formerly of Renwick Drive, pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
He also admitted possessing two sexual videos of a child including one in the most serious category.
The offences occurred in November 2023 when Hawkins attempted to message a child telling her what he would do to her sexually and asking for sexual photos, according to court records.
Hawkins, now living in Warlingham in Surrey, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Monday (May 18).
He was sentenced to ten months in custody suspended for two years.
Hawkins will remain on the sex offenders register for ten years.
