Skipper Matt Hammond starred in St Lawrence & Highland Court’s rain-affected Kent League Premier Division four-wicket win over Sevenoaks Vine on Saturday.

Chasing a revised target of 238 from 48 overs, Hammond, who turned 30 in March, top scored with 81 off 76 balls and shared a 132-run stand with opener Fred Sharp (65).

Former Kent bowler George Garrett (4-50) was the pick of Vine’s bowlers.

Earlier, Harry Bevan-Thomas’ 92 had led the way for the away team in their 240 all out as spinner Thomas Copestake (3-42) shone.

Early frontrunners Tunbridge Wells made it two victories from two as they saw off Hayes by six wickets.

Matthew Barker returned figures of 5-38 in Hayes’ 121 all out while Rory Low (26) top scored.

Viraj Bhatia struck an unbeaten 52 for the hosts in reply to get them across the line with 11 balls to spare.

Bexley were seven-wicket winners over early Kent League Premier Division basement boys Minster.

Ed Moore offered 47 as Minster made 167 all out and Louie James (3-18) impressed alongside Kent’s Jas Singh (3-30).

Set a revised target of 157 from 44 overs, opener Aiden Griggs’ 59 led Bexley safely home.

Bromley also made it two wins from two this summer with a seven-wicket win at Whitstable.

Opener Byron ‘Buzz’ Gould blasted 44 off 27 deliveries in Whitstable’s 258 all out while Aditya Kumar (4-42) did his bit with the ball.

Set a revised 251 from 46 overs, Ryan Cartwright and Sean Thompson, with 79 not out and 78 respectively, ensured the visitors were victorious with 13 balls still to play.

Blackheath were three-wicket winners at Lordswood to also maintain a perfect league record after two league fixtures.

Adeel Hussain (33) inspired Lordswood to 173 all out while Jahid Ahmed (3-26) and Jas Bassan (3-48) each did well.

Niaz Khan’s 62 saw Blackheath across the line despite Hussain (3-30) and Henry Dunlop (3-51) claiming scalps.
