Mark McGarvey appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court after cops were called to an address in the Garturk Street area of Glasgow on May 13.
Cops say this was in connection with ongoing enquiries into the serious assault of a 37-year-old woman that happened in the Daisy Street area earlier in the day.
McGarvey, 38, was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged attempted murder on May 14.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, May 13, officers attended at a property in the Garturk Street area of Glasgow in connection with ongoing enquiries into the serious assault of a 37-year-old woman that happened in the Daisy Street area earlier in the day.
“They executed a warrant at the same address on Thursday, May 14, and a 38-year-old man was arrested and charge in connection with attempted murder. He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, May 18, 2026.”
McGarvey also faces charges of ‘assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life, as well as apparently failing to comply with the terms of an undertaking, other than the requirement to appear at court’.
He made no plea in court today.
He has been committed for further examination and remanded in custody. He is due to appear in court again in eight days.
