Mark Ilderton, ScotRail’s service delivery director, said: “We are reminding customers that timetable changes will come into effect from Sunday, 17 May, with most changes focused on weekends to support the continued growth in leisure travel across Scotland.”
Some weekday services will also be updated, partly to accommodate operational needs and ongoing engineering projects—most notably work on the Borders Railway to enable future electrification of the route.
Customers are being advised to review their journeys in advance, as departure times on some services will change.

Mr Ilderton said: “These additional services will provide customers with more choice and flexibility, helping more people travel by rail for leisure trips, events, and days out.
“There are also a small number of changes required to support operational requirements and planned engineering works on the Borders Railway, which will help enable the future electrification of the route.”
He urged all passengers to check latest travel information before setting off.
