The stylish spot on the Lisburn Road aims to provide premium, health-focused food
New restaurants are opening almost weekly in Belfast, and we always hear “we need more healthy food spots”.
Vine has clearly listened and just opened a new restaurant on the bustling Lisburn Road with the motto of “Eat Well, Live Better”, which is emblazoned on the doors before you head in.
This new spot is the brainchild of Nathan Sno, who has made a name for himself in restaurants across London, Australia and the US, but has come home to Belfast to make his dreams of opening his own business a reality.
He believes that his “new Belfast restaurant will set the standard for healthy fast food” and that “there’s a strong food scene here, but when it comes to premium, health-focused food, there’s still a gap. We’re here to raise that standard.”
The Lisburn Road feels like the natural place to open a place like this and will be the best spot to capture anyone in the market for a healthy meal.
The social media pages don’t give much away about exactly what it offers, but we can give you the rundown of what to expect when you head in.
Straight away, the restaurant itself, which took over the vacant unit which was ‘FUEL’ once upon a time, is very stylish. It has deep red paint and furnishings paired with dark green chairs and sofas. In equal measure, it is moody yet bright, with large windows letting the sun pour in.
The offering here is a salad bowl style, which has become more and more popular. There are set ‘signature’ bowls or a build your own option.
The ‘signature’ bowls consist of Romesco Salmon, Vine Falafel, Maple Harvest Chicken and Tahini Meatballs. There are essentially the different meats or proteins on offer paired with sides that the restaurant thinks will go well with them.
However, if you do want to mix it up, then the ‘build your own’ option is perfect for you. It allows you to pick 3 ‘market sides’, 1 protein and 1 sauce to put together the perfect bowl for you.
There is a range of 11 different ‘market sides’ to choose from here, so there is plenty to choose from. You pick from the likes of ‘Maple Sweet Potatoes’, ‘Wholemeal Mac & Cheese’ and ‘Spiced Cauliflower’.
Each bowl is £14 with a £2 supplement if you add grilled steak to your order.
The restaurant officially opened on Friday, May 8, on the Lisburn Road.
