Kent Police were called at 10.37pm on Thursday (May 7) to reports of a crash in St Mary’s Road.
Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
A teenage boy was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Another teenage boy and a man in their 30s were taken to a local hospital after the crash and were later discharged.
In an email seen by the News Shopper and shared on Facebook, Orchards Academy confirmed the school remained closed today (May 8) due to the incident.
A spokesperson for the academy said: “Students due to be sitting a GCSE exam today will be contacted separately.”
Two people, a 39-year-old man and a boy aged 16, were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.
Police are asking those who may have witnessed the crash to contact police on 01622 604100 quoting the reference 46/72738/26.

“Officers attended, along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and a teenage boy was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
“A second teenage boy and a man in his 30s were taken to a local hospital and both were later discharged.
“Two people, a 39-year-old man and a boy aged 16, were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.
