Kent Police were called at 10.37pm on Thursday (May 7) to reports of a crash in St Mary’s Road.
Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, where a teenage boy was found injured and taken to a London hospital.
He remains in hospital in a serious condition.
A second teenage boy and a man in his 30s were also taken to a local hospital, but were later discharged.
A 39-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have since been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.
In an email seen by the News Shopper and shared on Facebook, Orchards Academy informed parents of an emergency school closure today (May 8) due to a “police incident”.
In the email, a spokesperson for the academy said: “Students due to be sitting a GCSE exam today will be contacted separately.”
