A seam bowler has joined Kent on a two-match loan.

James Taylor, 25, arrives from Surrey and came in for his Kent County Championship Division 2 debut against Gloucestershire in Bristol from today, with fellow seam bowler Matt Milnes’ workload being managed by Kent.

Staffordshire-born Taylor – who joined Surrey from Derbyshire ahead of their 2020 summer – is also due to play for Adam Hollioake’s men when they take on Durham at Beckenham from next Friday.

“We’re pleased to welcome James into our squad for the next two weeks,” said director of cricket Simon Cook.

“James provides us with greater depth and flexibility in our seam-bowling ranks.”

Taylor is among those that is likely to be bowling at Ben Stokes as the England skipper continues his recovery with Durham from a fractured cheekbone he suffered in an indoor session in February.
