On April 21, at around 8.25pm, an incident was reported to police involving a red saloon car and a pedestrian.
The incident took place on Old Shoreham Road, in Portslade, at the junction with Hangleton Road.
Police said the driver of the red vehicle initially stopped at the scene to check on the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 20-year-old woman, later attended hospital and received treatment for injuries.
Police are seeking to trace the driver of the red vehicle, as well as other drivers who initially stopped at the scene.
Witnesses and anyone with information who has not come forward already is asked to report information to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 1575 of 21/04.
