Despite a grey sky, moods were not dampened and the Bromley faithful were in fine voice – and accompanied by a drum.

Local fan Dave has supported the club for 37 years and said: “Just start to finish this season has been amazing.
“The fact they’ve gone the entire season unbeaten at home, it’s just crazy.
“If you told 13-year-old me when I started going to the club that we’d end up in League One as champions of League Two – it’s just mind-blowing.”

James has been supporting the club since they were in League Two and said this season was “history” for the club and fans.
“The manager has done what he said he was going to do and he’s completed what he promised,” he said.

Whilst promotion to League One was secured in mid April, the League Two title was only decided on Saturday (May 2) when the Ravens beat Walsall 3-1.
MK Dons were held to a 1-1 draw away at Fleetwood Town FC, which saw Bromley crowned champions.

They will play in League One next season for the first time in the club’s history.
At The CopperJax, each player, coach and backroom staff member was individually announced and applauded, making their way onto the pitch with the backdrop of a song of their choice.

Striker Nicke Kabamba told the News Shopper: “We were known as the underdogs – little old Bromley – and people wrote us off at the start of the season but it’s days like this that make football amazing.
“We’ve accomplished something which is so, so big for the club, so big for us.
“It’s just something that we are really, really proud of – it is hard to put it into words.”

Notable highlights included midfielder Mitch Pinnock pouring a pint of beer over his face, goalkeeper Grant Smith pretending to sustain a hamstring injury before twerking at the crowd and the squad bundling on top of club captain Byron Webster.
Manager Andy Woodman addressed the Bromley fans via microphone but directed praise towards the squad rather than himself.

He said: ‘It’s quite an emotional time for me because these boys have given us everything.
“These boys deserve all the plaudits.
“They’ve sacrificed, their families have sacrificed and they got the result they deserved – champions.”
