Here are the names and faces of the men who have been sentenced to prison time in April 2026.
Paedophile teaching assistant
Charlie Territt, who worked at Streatham Wells Primary School, was sentenced to seven years in prison for child sex offences.
Throughout 2024, Territt engaged in late-night conversations with a vulnerable child on Snapchat.
The 32-year-old sent sexual videos of himself and incited the child to send similar videos in return.
Judge Silas Reid told Territt: “What you did can only be described as serious grooming.
“You engaged in utterly inappropriate conversations about sexual matters designed for your own sexual gratification, culminating in inciting the child to masturbate and you receiving images of it.
“The damage you wreaked by your behaviour will no doubt last many years if not forever.”
Men raped missing girl, 14
Three men from Beckenham and Lewisham raped a missing 14-year-old girl over several days.
Daryl German, 43, approached the girl on the street and persuaded her to go to his flat where he raped her, before going on to “pimp her” to Jordan Doneley Wint, 31, and Deon Smith, 55.
The victim was a “vulnerable young girl” with learning difficulties whose mum had reported her missing after she ran away from home last June.
Prosecutor Paul Fairley told a court: “Her mother said she effectively thought everyone was her friend and was very amenable to flattery.
“German encountered her in Catford and within seconds, less than a minute, he fell into step with her, put his arm around her and persuaded her back to his flat.”
Over the course of three days he raped her multiple times and plied her with crack cocaine and alcohol.
German invited Wint to his flat to rape her, then when he discovered that police were looking for her, he took her to Smith’s home in New Cross where she was raped again.
German was sentenced to 15 years in custody with an additional three years on licence as she had concluded that he poses a danger to the public.
Wint was sentenced to six years in prison while Smith was jailed for seven years.
Murder who faked self-defence wounds
Simon Ghebremedhin, 34, attacked 26-year-old Marjama Osman at her flat in Frith Road, Croydon last May.
Ms Osman managed to escape the property before collapsing outside, where she was found unconscious by a passer-by.
Police and paramedics attended, but she later died.
Ghebremedhin was also found at the scene with a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to the hospital.
He later claimed he had acted in self-defence, telling officers Ms Osman had attacked him with a knife.
However, CCTV footage showed him acting aggressively before the attack, including smashing his own phone and banging on the victim’s door.
After following Ms Osman out of the flat, he returned inside, where police believe he injured himself in an attempt to support his false account.
He was found guilty of murder and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 19 years.

Former school bus driver
Former school bus driver Eric Cox, 67, sexually abused a vulnerable boy in Blackheath.
He was convicted of three charges of indecent assault and one charge of buggery.
The offences relate to the historic sexual abuse of a boy more than three decades ago, beginning when Cox was in his 30s.
Prosecutor Robert Meikle said Cox is already a serving prisoner, having been sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2016 for the systematic sexual abuse and rape of another young boy between 2011 and 2015.
Cox was due to be released soon having served two-thirds of the sentence, but now he is facing a longer prison stay as he was sentenced to a further seven-and-a-half years in prison.
Mr Meikle, outlining the facts of the historic abuse, said Cox exploited his position of trust as a bus driver in south-east London to target and sexually abuse the vulnerable young boy over a number of years.
The victim said he could not escape Cox but did not tell anyone because the abuse he distorted his view of right and wrong, the court heard.
The abuse was reported to the police in 2020.

Child rapist
Kamran Khan, 44, from Streatham, repeatedly raped and sexually abused a girl under the age of 13.
He groomed the child by using established connections with her family to secure time alone with her, before abusing her in multiple locations, including her home, her bedroom and a park bench.
He threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone what he had done.
Despite the threats made against her, the girl spoke out and disclosed the abuse.
Khan has now been jailed for 15 years.

Bromley burglar
Peter Harlow stole more than £21,000 worth of cash and belongings from homes in south-east London during a home invasion spree last June.
Croydon Crown Court heard that one burglary turned violent when the career criminal climbed through an open window of a home in Portland Road, Bromley.
Prosecutor Samuel March said a couple were sleeping on a blow-up mattress in the living room, which Harlow entered at 4am.
Their son, who is the homeowner, and grandchildren were asleep elsewhere in the house.
“The couple woke up and saw the defendant, who demanded money from them,” Mr March said.
A fight began in which Harlow threw a punch at the man that also made contact with the woman, before he fled empty-handed.
In a victim impact statement, the man said he was used to physical altercations but worried for his family’s safety.
“This is their home and they should feel safe here. The incident has left me feeling worried and concerned for them in case he comes back,” he said.
Between June 3 and June 23, Harlow carried out five more burglaries at homes in Chislehurst, Mottingham, Blackheath and Sevenoaks.
Most of the burglaries took place in broad daylight while the occupants were out, the court heard.
Harlow was sentenced to six years in prison.

Drug dealer
Tyler Howe, 24, from Orpington, was caught carrying 44 wraps of crack cocaine and £177 of cash on August 11 last year.
He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply but claimed he was acting as a courier rather than a street dealer.
Howe said he was kidnapped and beaten up by individuals after accumulating a debt when police seized drugs from him in 2019, and was now being forced to courier drugs.
But Judge David Miller said he was sure that Howe was lying about this.
Judge Miller sentenced Howe to three-and-a half years in prison.
“Everyone must know that if you become involved in selling drugs, causing misery in the community and often harm or deaths, they must be punished and the punishment must be a prison sentence,” Judge Miller said.
The judge added: “Don’t put your mother and grandmother through any more stress. Just walk away from this industry.”

On-the-run child rapist
A high-risk child sex offender who absconded from his approved premises in Abbey Wood was caught by police – only to escape again hours later.
William Knowles, who has convictions for the rape and sexual abuse of children of both sexes, had been released from prison into the community in October last year.
But by November 5 he was circulated as wanted after it was discovered he had abandoned the accommodation provided by the Probation Service in Abbey Wood.
On December 5, the 64-year-old was arrested at London Luton Airport, but was taken into custody complaining of chest pains.
While in hospital he managed to lose the police officers who were looking after him and escaped. He was then found two days later unconscious at a train station.
In a decision described by a crown court judge as “extraordinary”, magistrates decided to release him on bail.
Knowles again failed to register with police before he was eventually sent into custody in January of this year.
He has now been jailed for two years after he pleaded guilty to four breaches of Sexual Harm Prevention Orders and escaping lawful custody.

Man watched child abuse videos on train
David Johnson, 35, from Wandsworth, was caught viewing indecent images of children on his mobile phone while travelling on a train.
He was travelling on a train from Stafford to London when he was observed by a fellow passenger sitting behind him.
The man could see Johnson exchanging messages on his phone before opening a video showing a young child being abused.
Johnson then switched to another chat where he was asked what types of videos he liked. He replied: “Just kids videos.”
Shocked by what he had witnessed, the passenger messaged his partner to explain what was happening.
When he looked back at Johnson’s phone, he saw him watching another video involving an even younger child.
The man was so shaken that he moved to another part of the carriage before reporting the incident to British Transport Police using the 61016 text service.
Officers were dispatched to meet the train at London Euston railway station, where Johnson was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
During his arrest, officers seized Johnson’s mobile phone, which was found to have an indecent image of a child set as its wallpaper.
While in custody, Johnson asked if he could have his phone returned, stating that he “needed to delete some stuff”.
Johnson has been jailed for two years and three months.

Nappy fetishist
Adam Martin, 34, from Beckenham, was part of an online network of paedophiles.
He was arrested at his home on Hawkins Way last November following intel about a Google account under the name Adam Nappy.
The sex offender had been closely monitored by police as he previously attempted to meet a 12-year-old boy following grooming.
Officers discovered he had used an unregistered Samsung tablet to engage in discussions about child sexual abuse on online forums.
Alongside images of himself in nappies, on the device officers found videos of babies and toddlers being subjected to extreme sexual abuse.
Judge Martin Yale said: “The collection of material found on the device can only be described as utterly depraved.”
Martin was jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Dark web drug dealer
Helio Delfini, 43, of Rotherhithe Street in Southwark, was jailed for his part in a sophisticated dark web cocaine operation.
Along with two others, Delfini operated under the dark web vendor name ‘UKWhite’, supplying cocaine across the UK and overseas.
Officers from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) uncovered thousands of transactions through the UKWhite account, with more than 28kg of high-purity cocaine distributed over 14 months.
Detective Inspector Ross Flay said: “Along with his co-conspirators, Delfini used anonymising technology and cryptocurrency-based payments to run a sophisticated dark web drug supply network from his home in London.”
Delfini was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine.

Chicken shop attack
Marwan Khadir, 18, of Malcolm Close in Penge, assaulted and threatened to kill a staff member at a south London chicken shop.
On Christmas Eve, Khadir carried out an attack which lasted more than two minutes using a realistic imitation firearm.
The court heard that the 18-year-old became aggressive after complaining about his order before producing the weapon, threatening to shoot and kill the worker and assaulting him multiple times.
Khadir was jailed for three years.
