On Sunday, May 3, 2026, lines in the Uddingston area will be closed for planned works, affecting trains running between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts.

Services on this route will operate to an amended timetable throughout the day, and journey times may be extended.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: “On Sunday, 3 May 2026, engineering work is taking place in the Uddingston area, closing some lines.

“This affects trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh via Shotts, which will operate to an amended timetable.

“Please plan ahead on our app or website.”

Passengers are advised to check their journey using the National Rail journey planner or ScotRail’s website before travelling.
