Karina Brown, who owns Home Instead Bromley, Chislehurst and Orpington, is in the running for Woman Franchisee of the Year at the Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWiF) Awards, which celebrate women’s achievements in the franchising industry.
A Home Instead franchisee since June 2013, she led the company’s highest-performing home in 2025, delivering care to more than 150 people across the area. Her contributions have been widely recognised.
She received Highly Commended in the Businesswoman of the Year category at the 2025 Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards. Judges praised her “vision for exceptional home care.”

Ms Brown said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be named a finalist in this year’s EWIF Awards. Being part of a network that not only supports quality home care but also champions women in business makes this recognition even more meaningful.
“Running my own franchise has given me the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives across my local community.”
Ms Brown also received the first Cora Phillips Award from the Bromley Dementia Friendly Community in 2025 for her “deep-rooted commitment” to supporting people affected by dementia.
The EWiF Awards ceremony will be held in Leicester on May 20.
