Garthamlock and Craigend Development Trust, which supports local people through inclusive projects, practical resources, and collaborative partnerships, announced on social media that it will no longer be able to continue its work.
It comes as the charity is facing ongoing challenges with not being able to find a suitable space within Greater Easterhouse Supporting Hands (GESH) – a community centre in the East End of the city.
As a result, the charity will no longer be able to run its classes – such as yoga and arts and crafts – or organise its days out.

Taking to Facebook, the charity said the decision did not come easy.
The post continued: “Important Update from Garthamlock and Craigend Development Trust It is with heavy hearts that we have to share some difficult news. Due to the ongoing challenges of not having a suitable space within GESH, Garthamlock and Craigend Development Trust is no longer able to continue its journey. As a result, we will sadly no longer be able to run our classes or organise our days out.This has not been an easy decision.
“Our trust was built with passion, care, and a strong commitment to supporting our community, and we are incredibly proud of everything that has been achieved along the way. None of this would have been possible without the support, kindness, and encouragement from everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, or believed in us.
“We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to you all for being part of our journey. While this chapter is coming to an end, the memories, connections, and impact we’ve made together will always remain. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
