He will play Alec Leamas, a weary and disillusioned British intelligence officer, in the stage adaptation of John le Carré’s classic Cold War novel.
The production will run at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley from March 24 to 28.

Mr Little said: “It is a huge privilege to be stepping into the shoes of one of John le Carré’s great literary creations. Despite being written in the 60s it feels startlingly relevant to the times we are living in now. I can’t wait to share this story with audiences old and new as we take it to cities right across the UK.”
The novel follows Leamas as he is drawn back into the world of espionage for one final, dangerous mission.
The story was named by TIME Magazine as one of its All-Time 100 Novels. This marks the first time a le Carré novel has been brought to the stage.
The adaptation is by playwright David Eldridge, with direction by Jeremy Herrin and tour direction by Joe Lichtenstein.
Mr Little is best known for his television work, including roles in Death in Paradise, The Royle Family and Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. His theatre credits include God of Carnage, Ugly Lies The Bone and Presence, for which he received an Olivier Award nomination.
The tour follows a sold-out premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre.
