South east London, which includes Bromley, Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark, saw an overall fall in reported crime at the end of February when compared to January.
A total of 10,512 offences were logged in February, down 1.6 per cent from the 10,617 recorded in January, continuing a slight downward trend.
Southwark recorded the highest number of offences, with 3,047 crimes reported during the month.
Theft was the most common offence in the borough with 1,241 incidents, followed by violence against the person with 703 reports.
There were also 166 burglaries, 148 arson and criminal damage offences, 173 vehicle offences, 176 robberies and 148 public order offences.
Together, theft and violence against the person accounted for more than half of all offences recorded in the borough.
Lewisham had the second-highest crime total, with 2,292 offences in February.
Violence against the person and theft were again the most frequently recorded crimes, with 776 and 633 reports respectively.
This was followed by 176 vehicle offences and 134 public order offences.
Overall, the figures show a similar pattern to Southwark, with violent and acquisitive crimes making up the majority of offences recorded.
Greenwich ranked third, with 2,174 offences reported during the month, down one per cent compared to January.
The borough recorded 700 incidents of violence against the person and 529 theft offences, alongside 182 vehicle crimes.
There were also 162 public order offences, and 141 arson and criminal damage offences, as well as drug offences.
Bromley was next in the rankings, with 1,829 offences reported in February.
Despite being London’s largest borough by area, it recorded considerably fewer offences than its inner-London neighbours.
This included 582 cases of violence against the person, 405 thefts and 239 vehicle offences.
Police also recorded 136 arson and criminal damage offences, 97 burglaries and 136 public order offences.
Bexley recorded the lowest number of reported offences in south east London, with 1,170 crimes.
Police dealt with 414 reports of violence against the person, 189 thefts, 127 vehicle offences, and 107 arson and criminal damage offences.
Overall, crime levels in Bexley remained significantly lower than the sub-regional average.
