Probe launched after four men attacked in early morning incident - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates



The incident took place in the High Street area of Ayr at around 2.45am on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Two of the men, aged 32 and 39, were taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries, while the other two, aged 24 and 53, sustained minor injuries and did not require medical help.

Police are now looking for a group of three men and women who were seen in the area at the time of the assault to come forward as officers believe they can assist with their investigation. 

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson said: “Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Enquiries so far have established that a group of three men and women were in the area at the time, and they left in the direction of Mill Wynd, on to Blackfriars Walk, over Turners Brig and then towards John Street.

“We are keen to speak to them as we believe they can assist officers.

“If you have any private CCTV from the area, please check to see if it has captured anything that might help our investigation.

“Likewise, if you were driving in the area around the time of the incident, get in touch if you have dash-cam footage that could help.”
