Officers responded to a report that a man was seriously injured in an attack in Victoria Park, Worthing, at around 2.45am on Saturday, February 28.
A man is his 40s was stabbed following a brief interaction with two people in the park, police said.
The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
On Sunday, March 1, a 17-year-old boy from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and with being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.
He has since been charged and appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court yesterday, March 3.
The teenager was remanded in custody to appear in court again tomorrow, March 5.
Detective Sergeant, Harry Mansbridge said: “We continue to urge anyone who may be able to assist us in our investigation to get in touch.
