Filmmakers and contributors walked the red carpet in the city centre today to celebrate the immortalisation of the powerful mass-demonstration, which led to the release of two men detained by immigration officers in 2021.

Everybody To Kenmure Street was directed by BAFTA-winner Felipe Bustos Sierra and features original footage collected from people at the scene.

It also includes moving testimonies of a man who lay under the immigration enforcement van to block it from moving and an off-duty nurse who stayed with him all day to ensure his safety.

The crew, including music artists Alana Rae and Rachel Sermanni, contributors Mohammad Asif, Pinar Aksu, Aamer Anwar and Tabassum Niamat and director Felipe Bustos Sierra, were pictured at the premiere at Glasgow Film Theatre.

On the morning of May 31, 2021, two men were taken from their Pollokshields homes and detained by the Home Office for alleged immigration violations.

In response, hundreds of Glaswegians gathered on their doorstep and staged an eight-hour sit-in protest, which led to their release.
