Police have issued a specific appeal after a woman was assaulted in North Belfast on Sunday night.

Officers were called to reports of an ongoing assault in the Flax Street area of Ardoyne at around 9.15pm on Sunday, February 22. It was reported that a woman was assaulted by a man before both parties left in a grey Skoda.

Issuing an appeal for information, police have specifically asked for the drivers of four cars to get in touch with them regarding the incident.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of an on-going assault in the Flax Street area of the city around 9:15pm on Sunday evening.

“It is believed that just after 9pm a woman was assaulted by a man before both parties left in a grey Skoda in the direction of Ardoyne.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed this, and specifically to the drivers of a blue Audi Q5, a white Citroen Crossover/SUV, a blue Mercedes hatchback and a blue Renault Kadjar.

“If you believe you have any information that could assist us, please get in contact on 101 quoting reference 1472 of 23/02/26.”
