Mark Lett told police the 19-year-old performed oral sex on him at a bus shelter before asking him and co-accused, George Ellis, to penetrate him.
The three men were involved in an “intense and passionate embrace” in the centre of Brighton on December 21, 2024, he said.
Mark Lett, 43, and George Ellis, 41, deny rape.
Mr Lett was interviewed on December 27 after he contacted Sussex Police.
He had travelled to Brighton with his flatmate Mr Ellis to have Christmas drinks.
The pair checked into a hotel before going out for dinner and drinks in the city.
He told police they met the 19-year-old man as he and Mr Ellis walked back to their hotel after 3am.
Within seconds of meeting him, Mr Lett asked the teen if he was interested in having sex with both of them.
Mr Lett said he was looking for some excitement and fun at the end of the evening.
“I said to him: ‘Are you up for a threesome?
“He said he wasn’t gay.”
Mr Lett said the teenager said he had engaged in a sexual act with a man before.
“I asked if he would do it again.
“He said yeah.
“We went to the bus stop and he started performing oral sex on me,” Mr Lett told police.
When he realised they were still exposed, Mr Lett suggested going somewhere else.
“We were all in an embrace in a doorway.
“It was like a frenzy.”
The three men went into a basement stairwell where the sexual activity continued, Mr Lett told police.
Mr Lett told police that he performed oral sex on the 19-year-old. Following this, he said the teenager “switched”.
“Then he switched and he was thrashing around.
“He started punching us.
“He was saying ‘You’re trying to rape me.
“I said, ‘What the f**k are you saying?”
The teenager started lashing out and punching Mr Ellis, he said.
“I was getting George off the guy and he was smacking him in the face.
“The guy just went mental.
“He just kept saying, ‘You’re trying to rape me’.
“George got free and started running,” Mr Lett said.
The two men went back to their hotel where Mr Lett said he tended to wounds on Mr Ellis’s face.
They discussed the incident on the train home the next day.
Mr Lett told police: “The guy was absolutely crazy.
“He was instigating everything, then just completely flipped.
“He must have a screw lose.
“He was up for it, then flipped.
“George had a nasty black eye and a few cuts,” Mr Lett said.
Mr Lett told police the encounter was ‘100 per cent consensual’.
Asked if he knew the teenager’s name or if he had introduced himself, Mr Lett said: “No.”
Lett, of Court Crescent, Chessington, is accused of orally raping the teen.
Ellis, of Lammas Lane, Esher, is accused of raping him anally.
The pair are charged with rape, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault with intent to commit relevant sexual offence.
The trial at Lewes Crown Court in Hove continues.
