The incident was reported on the A2 London bound from B255 Bean Lane to M25 J2 at around 4.30am today (February 19).
Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier were dispatched to the scene by Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
The blaze was extinguished and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is not known.
Lanes one, two and three are still closed at the time of writing whilst traffic is moving via lane four (of four).
A spokesperson for the force said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a lorry alight on the A2 London-bound near Bean, Dartford.
“Control operators sent five fire engines and a bulk water carrier to the scene, where firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using main jets and compressed air foam.
“The technical rescue unit also attended and used a telehandler to remove and cool the contents of the vehicle.
“No injuries have been reported, and the cause is unknown.
“People travelling towards the area are advised to expect delays and to check for traffic updates.”
