George O’Reilly, assistant director for risk reduction at ESFRS, said: “Our goal is to make fire safety simple and accessible for all businesses and Responsible Persons.
“The Fire Authority is tasked with enforcing the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, however, we understand that regulatory requirements can sometimes feel daunting.
“We are committed to supporting businesses of all types to reduce fire risks, remain legally compliant and improve business continuity and resilience.
“Through refreshing and relaunching our resources, we can help businesses understand their responsibilities and take proactive steps to protect their staff, residents, communities and the business itself.”
The campaign offers clear, easy-to-understand guidance for various types of premises, from small businesses to large commercial businesses and residential housing providers.
The updated ‘Workplaces’ section on the ESFRS website now features detailed information on fire safety regulations, what to expect when we visit, Residential PEEPs guidance, and a range of tools and resources.
To improve accessibility, the website includes translation, text-to-speech, and other support features.
ESFRS covers 369 high-rise residential buildings and more than 57,300 commercial properties within its service area.
To further its outreach, ESFRS has created flyer cards with QR codes distributed during Fire Safety Checks and Audits.
These direct Responsible Persons to the updated website for instant access to guidance at any time.
The campaign also includes a social media campaign to share guidance, tips and updates throughout the year, and in-person engagement through safety engagements and events, training sessions, and ESFRS’ Primary Authority Scheme.
