Dorin Ciorba, 29, was found guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday (February 12) of the murder and robbery of Osaretin Oronsaye.
Mr Oronsaye was found dead at his home in Dunlop Close on July 5, 2025.
Kent Police officers were able to place Ciorba in the area at the time of the murder after reviewing CCTV footage, which showed him arriving at Dartford Station before cycling to Mr Oronsaye’s home.
Ciorba entered the property and left a short time later wearing different clothes, before boarding a train back to London.
He then immediately used Mr Oronsaye’s bank cards for several transactions.
Officers arrested Ciorba at his home address in Longbridge Road, Barking, on July 17, 2025.

They found the victim’s bank cards and car keys – as well as paperwork relating to a small claims dispute between the two men – during a search of Ciorba’s property.
The documents had been served the evening before the murder.
Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber, said: “Ciorba calmly travelled from London to carry out this senseless murder and truly believed he had gotten away with his crime.
“He arrogantly used Mr Oronsaye’s bank cards after searching online for reports of a murder and kept hold of the items he had taken from the murder scene.
“This case shows that no matter how calculated an offender believes they are, they will not get away with such appalling violence.
“I hope this verdict provides Osaretin’s family and friends with some comfort and will give them time to grieve their loved one.”
