The historic Welsh Tavern pub is listed on Zoopla for £950,000 by M3M Real Estate as a freehold commercial property with significant development potential.
Dating back to 1827, this Victorian pub in London Road closed in 2022 after the former landlord and landlady decided not to renew their lease.
A year later, plans were submitted to demolish the building and replace it with flats, complete with off-road parking and a new access road, but the application was later withdrawn.
On June 11, 2025, a fire devastated the historic building, with firefighters and police called to control the blaze. An investigation was launched by Kent Police.
The pub remains unopened, with estate agents saying it offers significant redevelopment opportunities. Any would-be owner would have the option to enhance the residential units and reimagine the pub space.
The property includes a ground-floor pub area and two residential units above: a four-to-five-bedroom flat and a smaller two-bedroom flat.
According to the listing, the site also offers a garden, parking space, and high visibility, with strong footfall in London Road and links to nearby Bluewater Shopping Centre.
The property sits near ro Dartford and Stone Crossing stations, and is just two miles from the Dartford Crossing, giving access to the A2 and M25.
M3M Real Estate describes it as “an exceptional opportunity to capitalize on a versatile space with significant potential,” offering flexibility for both a revived pub operation or a mixed-use development project.
