The measures, which will affect parts of Bromley later this month, are to allow Openreach to carry out essential telecoms maintenance and upgrades, including ducting, poling, and other related works.
The works are scheduled to begin on or after February 18, 2026, under Section 14(1)(c) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, according to the Public Notice Portal.
The order will remain in force for up to 18 months, although individual restrictions on each road will only be in place for the duration of the specific works being carried out.
The full list of affected roads includes Lillie Road, Cray Avenue, Crown Lane, Hayesford Park Drive, Hawstead Lane, Jubilee Road, Logs Hill, Lusted Hall Lane, Polestead Hill, Sunnyvale Avenue, and St Mary’s Green.
Under the order, no vehicles will be permitted to wait on the affected roads, and access will be restricted to through-traffic for the duration of the works.
One-way systems may be introduced where required, and cycle lanes in the affected areas will also be closed.
Cyclists will be redirected into the main carriageway, and drivers are being advised not to overtake cyclists within the works zones.
The restrictions will be enforced with appropriate traffic signage, in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Works will take place only at times indicated by the signage, and the prohibition of traffic will not apply to cul-de-sacs.
Emergency access will be maintained throughout the works, and residents will be able to access their properties from either side of the closures wherever practicable.
Vehicles directly involved in the works will be exempt from the restrictions, as will any actions carried out under the direction of a uniformed police officer or civil enforcement officer.
The order does not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the works or to anything done with the permission or direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer.
