The Environment Agency said flooding is “expected” in Barcombe Mills, on the River Ouse, in Fittleworth, on the Western River Rother, and in Pulborough, on the River Arun, today, February 7.
Dramatic pictures taken yesterday show floodwater in Pulborough close to properties after “weeks of rain”.
Floodwater is currently impacting fields, the A29, gardens of properties in Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham.
River levels are now falling there, however flooding is expected to continue into next week. The Environment Agency added that if as much rain falls as predicted on Wednesday, February 11, flooding may return.

It is currently running pumps in Pulborough to reduce flooding.
Fittleworth, near Pulborough, is also facing floodwater near Fittleworth Mill. River levels there are also falling, the Environment Agency said, but flooding could continue as a result of rain next week.
In Barcombe Mills, north of Lewes, the Anchor Inn, gardens in Barcombe Mills and fields and roads including Anchor Lane and Barcombe Mills Road have been impacted by flooding.
A further 24 flood alerts have been issued across Sussex, meaning flooding is possible in these areas.
This includes Patcham, where “a small amount of water could appear in a few basements”. The Environment Agency added “previous events” suggested Old London Road, Patcham, and Peacock Lane, Withdean, could be impacted.
