Police received a report that a 17-year-old boy had been raped at an address in St Leonards on Friday, January 30, at around midnight.
A 38-year-old man was arrested today, February 2, on suspicion of rape and remains in custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Carol Shoesmith said: “This is an evolving investigation, and we have specialist officers in contact with the victim to ensure he is fully supported throughout.
“From the moment this was reported to us on Friday morning, we have conducted multiple enquiries in the St Leonards area to identify the suspect and arrest him.
“We are not seeking anyone else in connection to the incident at this time.
“We would like to thank those who shared our appeals and provided any information which led to this arrest, and we urge those with information to continue reporting, which could be crucial to the investigation.”
