I’ve recently watched many foodie content creators and lifestyle influencers create the most mouthwatering recipes, including homemade Kinder Bueno ice cream and Milky Bar milkshakes – the ideas are endless.
Of course, this resulted in spending hours on the Currys website dreaming about getting my hands on one and researching so much about it, I almost felt like a part of the machine myself.
It’s just one of the many kitchen gadgets both myself and my partner have wanted to try for quite some time, especially as we can’t resist a sweet treat, which often results in a lot of health guilt.
@uktoday_ Can confirm the Ninja Creami Deluxe is worth the hype 🤤 and I think I made the world’s best chocolate milkshake… Pls share all your Ninja Creami recipes below! @Ninja Kitchen #ninjacreami #milkshake #uknews ♬ Camouflage – Milky Chance
But the beauty of the Ninja Creami Deluxe is that it takes healthy bases of your choice and churns them into velvety sorbets, decadent gelatos, or rich, protein-packed ice cream.
This means you can customise levels of sugar, fat, and protein to however you fancy, so you can still indulge in your frozen and fridge favourites, but all while having control over the ingredients.
So, when I discovered new research from Ninja found that a remarkable 88% of people found benefits to making homemade desserts, I just had to give it a go.
As well as sorbets, gelatos and ice cream, the gadget can also make lite ice cream, frozen yoghurt, frappes, frozen drinks, slushies and milkshakes.
Truth be told, I couldn’t quite believe just how much the Ninja Creami Deluxe was capable of when I first unboxed it – but could it really do what it says on the tin (or machine, in this case)?
It comes with three large deluxe tubs that can hold just over 0.7 litres so you can make a big enough batch for you and your family.

It’s impressive how much you can get out of one tub (at least four generous servings in each one).
Now the disclaimer is, I have yet to make a “healthy” recipe as I’m still working through all the calorie heavy ones I’ve been saving on TikTok over the last year, but from what I’ve tried so far, I just know it’s capable of making the best homemade smoothie bowls and low-calorie ice cream.
I made ice cream with the Ninja Creami Deluxe that’s better than Ben & Jerry’s
The first sweet treat I was desperate to create was a Milky Bar ice cream – it seemed to be one of the easiest options for a Ninja Creami beginner, as I just needed a few packs of Milky Bar yoghurts and a splash or two of white chocolate milkshake.
All I had to do was fill up one of the large deluxe tubs (which have great airtight lids) with the ingredients to the required lines (there are different levels depending on if you are making something scoopable or drinkable), and then freeze until it was a solid block.
The next evening when it was time for a sweet treat, I took the tub out the freezer, slotted it inside the container at the base of the Ninja Creami (it makes a very satisfying spin-and-click motion), tapped the ‘full’ button, turned the dial to ‘ice cream’ and excitedly watch the countdown timer as it whizzed away.
What does top, full and bottom mean on Ninja Creami Deluxe?
The ‘top’, ‘bottom’, and ‘full’ buttons on the deluxe version allow you to control which portion of the tub is processed, quite handy, for example, if you only want to eat a little bit, so you can blitz the top part of the tub and leave the bottom for another day.
I oddly loved watching the blade make its way down the tub and seeing it do its thing in, all within two minutes, and what a magical two minutes it was.
When I hesitantly moved the lid, I couldn’t believe my eyes, how could something so simple make something so glorious? It really was the creamiest ice cream I have ever come across and instantly I knew I would be ditching any future over-priced Ben and Jerry’s from the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
I then decided to give it a ‘re-spin’ to make it extra creamy, and had a go at using the ‘mix in’ function to add some Milky Bar chocolate buttons, which it smashed up very well – it really did give some of the top ice cream brands a run for their money.

Best of all, the tub of Milky Bar ice cream lasted numerous days, even with two people tucking in to it each night.
Since then, I’ve had a go at making Kinder Bueno ice cream, with milk and white chocolate milkshake, and hazelnut spread (I also mixed in some chunks of a small Kinder chocolate bar).
In the same week, I made a peach sorbet, using only two cans of tinned peaches, as well as a peanut butter chocolate milkshake, with chocolate ice cream and smooth peanut butter (topped with brownie bites).
And yet every time, no matter the setting, each tub was blended to perfection.
I have to admit, I think the milkshake was the best I have ever made.
If you want to have a go at healthier Ninja Creami recipes, wellness icon and nutritionist Emily English has created the following to try:
I think the secret to the success of the Ninja Creami Deluxe is its powerful Dual Drive motors which push the inside paddle downwards to the blade, allowing it to blitz the ingredients so well.
As kitchen gadgets go, it’s pleasing on the eye as it’s quite slim and isn’t bulky, so doesn’t take up much space on worktops.

The black and silver design also fits right into modern kitchen décor. Plus, it has removable parts which are dishwasher friendly.
But the big question is, is it worth the price? Currently, the Ninja Creami Deluxe retails at £249.99 on the brand’s website.
I think it’s more than worth it, if you are a lover of all things ice cream, milkshakes, frappes, sorbets and more, because I don’t think sweet treats (both indulgent and healthier options) can get better than this at home.
