The five kittens were discovered in Linn Park on Monday, January 26, and were reported to the charity after being found by a member of the public. They are now receiving care at the Scottish SPCA’s Glasgow centre.
In a series of related incidents, the charity is also seeking information about two male cats and a guinea pig found abandoned elsewhere in the west of Scotland in recent days.

In addition, a guinea pig was discovered on January 25 at a local nature reserve in the KA20 area. The animal has been taken to the Glasgow centre and is receiving appropriate care.
The discovery of the kittens inside a carrier has prompted an appeal for information as officers work to establish how the animals came to be abandoned.
