Train services on a busy Glasgow route were disrupted this evening after a person was hit by a train.
Emergency services are dealing with an ongoing incident between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida stations, resulting in all lines being closed in the area.
Services between Glasgow Central and Neilston, as well as trains to Newton in Lanarkshire, have been cancelled or altered, with disruption expected to continue until around 8.30pm.
On the ScotRail journey checker, an update states: “Due to a person being hit by a train between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 20:30 January 27.”

The 6.35pm and 6.56pm services from Glasgow Central to Neilston were cancelled. The 6.22pm service to Newton did not call at Pollokshields East, Queens Park, Strathclyde, Crosshill or Mount Florida.
A ScotRail alert said: “Because of a person being hit by a train between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida all lines are closed. Disruption is expected to last until around 20:30 today.
“Train services between Glasgow Central and Glasgow Central via Queens Park, Strathclyde will be cancelled or delayed.”
It added: “We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated.”
ScotRail also posted on X: “The emergency services are handling an incident between Pollokshields East and Mount Florida which means that services passing through these stations will be altered.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment, as has British Transport Police.
