The property in East Chiltington, Lewes, won the Eco-friendly Property of the Year at Pass the Keys’ Property of the Year 2026 Awards.
It features an off-grid solar panel system and underfloor heating powered by an air-source heat pump, and also offers an electric car charging point.
Judges described it as “a property which has been designed and built with sustainability at the heart, from electric car charging to sustainable energy management.”
Pass the Keys is a holiday-let management franchise with more than 1,700 properties across 65 locations in the UK and Southern Spain.
The awards, which are judged by a panel including short-term let experts James Varley of Host Planet, Lisa Roads the Holiday Property Coach and Richard Vaughton of Yes Consulting, highlight standout holiday properties across categories such as affordability, family appeal, group suitability, design and sustainability.
Other winners included an Oxfordshire cottage, a Shrewsbury apartment, and a ‘Bond-villain’ style house in Newbury.
The overall Property of the Year and Property Design of the Year titles were awarded to a five-bedroom lake house in the Cotswolds, Somerford Keynes, which judges said offered “total wow factor.”
The runner-up was a pet-friendly family cottage in Eynsham, West Oxfordshire.
Award categories also featured properties for larger groups, with the Saracens retreat in Shropshire taking the Group Property of the Year title for its flexible accommodation and indoor swimming pool.
Family Property of the Year went to the Newbury property, described simply by judges as “What an amazing house! Love it.”
