The pedestrian was left in a critical condition after being hit by the van while walking his dog, but has since died

A man aged in his 80s has died in hospital after being hit by a van in Larkfield.

Officers from Kent Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to this incident which took place at around 8.10am on Sunday, December 21 2025.

At this time, the elderly man had been walking his dog in Leybourne Way at the junction with Gighill Road when he was involved in a collision with a white VW panel van.

The driver stopped and the pedestrian had sustained serious injuries.

He was taken to a London hospital in critical condition where he died on Saturday, January 10. His dog also sustained injuries and has been recovering at home.

A police spokesperson said: “An investigation by Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continues and witnesses, including those with dashcam footage, are urged to call the appeal line.
