Exact times A2, A282, M2, M25 and A20 will close in Kent this week

Closures will once again take place near the Dartford Crossing

Drivers will need to navigate around numerous closures on some of Kent’s busiest A-roads and motorways this week. National Highways has confirmed the details on all of the works impacting travel around the county between Monday, January 19 and Sunday, January 26.

Key stretches of the A2, A282, A20, M2, M20 and M25 will be affected by overnight road closures over the coming days, typically between the hours of 8pm and 6am to minimise the impact on drivers. Each night from Wednesday, January 21 to Friday, January 23, the A282 northbound will close near the Dartford Crossing between Junction 2 and Junction 1a for technology works.

Closures will again impact the Dartford Tunnels this week, with both the east and west tunnels to be closed at different times. Then on Saturday, January 24, the QEII Bridge will fully close overnight from 10pm until 5am on Sunday morning for routine safety checks and maintenance.

During this time a contraflow will run through the east tunnel to accommodate southbound M25/A282 journeys. As this is the taller tunnel of the two, there will be no northbound access for vehicles over 4.8m in height, which will instead be diverted via the M25 clockwise.

Monday, January 19

• The A2 westbound Darenth Interchange to the M25 clockwise Junction 2 link road will close from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A21 southbound will close between Morleys Road roundabout and Vauxhall Lane from 8pm to 6am for surfacing works.
• The A282 northbound west tunnel of the Dartford Crossing will be closed between 9pm and 5.30am for maintenance.
• The A282 northbound Junction 1a entry slip will close from 9pm to 5.30am for maintenance.
• The M2 eastbound Farthing Corner entry slip will be closed between 8pm and 6am for inspections.
• The M2 westbound Junction 3 entry slip will shut between 8pm and 6am for maintenance.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 5 entry slip will be closed from 8pm to 6am for maintenance.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 10 exit slip will close from 8pm to 6am for drainage works.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 4 exit slip will shut between 8pm and 6am for maintenance.
• The M25 anti-clockwise Junction 3 exit slip will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am for sign works.

Tuesday, January 20

• The A21 southbound will close between Morleys Road roundabout and Vauxhall Lane from 8pm to 6am for surfacing works.
• The A21 northbound Longfield Road entry and exit slips will be closed from 8pm to 6am for structure works.
• The A282 northbound west tunnel of the Dartford Crossing will be closed between 9pm and 5.30am for maintenance.
• The A282 northbound Junction 1a entry slip will close from 9pm to 5.30am for maintenance.
• The M2 eastbound Farthing Corner entry slip will be closed between 8pm and 6am for inspections.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 10 exit slip will be closed from 8pm to 6am for drainage works.
• The M25 anti-clockwise Junction 3 exit slip will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am for sign works.

Wednesday, January 21

• The A2 northbound Darenth Interchange to the A282 northbound Junction 2 link road will close from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A20 westbound Courtwood exit slip will be closed from 9pm to 6am for communication works.
• The A21 southbound will close between Morleys Road roundabout and Vauxhall Lane from 8pm to 6am for surfacing works.
• The A21 northbound Longfield Road entry and exit slips will be closed from 8pm to 6am for structure works.
• The A282 northbound will close from Junction 2 to Junction 1a from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1b link road will be closed between 10pm and 5.30am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound east tunnel of the Dartford Crossing will close from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The M2 westbound Farthing Corner entry slip will be closed from 8pm to 6am for inspections.
• The M20 westbound Junction 7 entry slip link road will close between 8pm and 6am for maintenance.

Thursday, January 22

• The A2 eastbound Canterbury Road exit slip will shut from 8pm to 6am for electrical works.
• The A2 northbound Darenth Interchange to the A282 northbound Junction 2 link road will close from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A21 southbound will close between Morleys Road roundabout and Vauxhall Lane from 8pm to 6am for surfacing works.
• The A21 northbound will close from Chipstead to the M25 Junction 5 from 10pm to 5.30am for barrier repair works.
• The A282 northbound will close from Junction 2 to Junction 1a from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1b link road will be closed between 10pm and 5.30am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound east tunnel of the Dartford Crossing will close from 10pm to 5.30am for technology works.
• The A282 southbound Junction 1a entry slip will be closed from 10pm to 5.30am.
• The M2 westbound Farthing Corner entry slip will be closed from 8pm to 6am for inspections.
• The M20 westbound Junction 10a entry slip will be shut from 8pm to 6am for drainage works.

Friday, January 23

• The A2 eastbound Dunkirk entry slip will be closed from 8pm to 6am for electrical works.
• The A2 westbound Darenth Interchange to the A282 Northbound Junction 2 link road will close from 11pm to 6am for technology works.
• The A21 southbound will close between Morleys Road roundabout and Vauxhall Lane from 8pm to 6am for surfacing works.
• The A21 northbound will close from Chipstead to the M25 Junction 5 from 11pm to 6am for barrier repair works.
• The A282 northbound will close from Junction 2 to Junction 1a from 11pm to 6am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound Junction 2 to Junction 1b link road will be closed between 11pm and 6am for technology works.
• The A282 northbound east tunnel of the Dartford Crossing will close from 11pm to 6am for technology works.

• The A21 will close in both directions between Junction Road and the A28 from 8pm to 6am for East Sussex County Council works.
• The QEII Bridge at the Dartford Crossing will be closed from 10pm to 5am for maintenance. Southbound M25/A282 traffic will be diverted via the east tunnel of the Dartford Crossing. There will be no northbound access over the Dartford Crossing for vehicles over 4.8m tall. Vehicles between 4.8m (15‘-9”) and 5.0m (16’-6”) high will be diverted via M25 clockwise.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 11a exit slip will close from 6pm to 4am for construction.

Sunday, January 25

• The A21 will close in both directions between Junction Road and the A28 from 8pm to 6am for East Sussex County Council works.
• The A282 northbound east tunnel at the Dartford Crossing will close between 10pm and 5am for tunnel works. There will be no access for vehicles over 4.8m tall. Vehicles between 4.8m (15‘-9”) and 5.0m (16’-6”) high will be diverted via M25 clockwise.
• The M20 eastbound Junction 11a exit slip will close from 6pm to 4am for construction.
