Search for BMW driver who 'left no trace' after crash in Aldingbourne - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates



Westergate Street, near Aldingbourne, was closed yesterday evening and police and fire and rescue were in attendance following the collision.

Both cars were badly damaged in the crash, with one flipped onto its side.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Westergate Street, Aldingbourne, about 9.05pm on Friday 16 January.

“The driver of a Skoda was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

“The other vehicle involved – a BMW – was abandoned at the scene. Despite an extensive area search, there was no trace of anyone connected to the BMW.

“A section of the road was temporarily closed while both vehicles were recovered.

“Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call 101 or report it online, quoting serial 1427 of 16/01.”
