Glasgow man's iPhone 15 Pro Max stolen on Kirriemuir Avenue Cardonald - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates



Police were alerted to the incident at around 6.10pm on Friday, January 16, following a report of a theft on Kirriemuir Avenue, Glasgow.

After the incident, a community group took to social media to warn Glaswegians about meeting people alone in the street to sell items.

A post on No1seems2care stated that a young boy had listed his iPhone 15 Pro Max online and arranged to deliver it to a buyer.

According to the post, the man took the phone and pretended to transfer the money. The boy then attempted to follow him for 15 minutes but was threatened by the individual.

He eventually gave up the pursuit.

Police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is under way.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.10pm on Friday, January 16, 2026, officers received a report of a theft on Kirriemuir Avenue, Glasgow. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The post on No1seems2care read: ” Hi, I’d posted my iPhone 15 pro max for sale and this guy asked me to deliver it.

“At 17:30 today I went to the address Kinnel Path G52 but the exact number didn’t exist so he met me in the street.

“This guy just took my phone by pretending to transfer money but obviously I hadn’t received.

“I tried to follow him for 15 mins but he threatened me every time I got near him.

“He then began to come forward at me with threats until I had to give up

“It’s been reported to police incident reference number is: PS-20260116-2862. Thank you”
